Il cartello di lavori in corso rientra a tutti gli effetti tra la segnaletica di sicurezza. Va esposto in corrispondenza di un cantiere, fisso o mobile, o di lavori temporanei, come ad esempio la manutenzione. La sua funzione è quindi segnalare la presenza di operai sul posto e di eventuali disagi connessi agli interventi in atto.
